Bringing Sunshine to the Windy City: Day 3

It's now Sunday morning and we've accomplished our search for coffee and hot chocolate. Our plans for the day were to relax after our endless day of walking all over Downtown Chicago. We decided to do some furniture shopping and grab something to eat in Lincoln Park, a part of Chicago just 15 minutes north of downtown that Pierre and I visit sometimes. We headed towards the Loop to catch the Red Line and stopped by the famous Chicago Theatre.

The three of us.

Our turn!

Once we did some furniture shopping, we stopped at Uncle Julio's for lunch! Pierre and I have been there once before and besides the delicious food, the service is unbelievable! I would definitely recommend the sopapillas, hand-puffed pastries with cinnamon and powdered sugar with honey for dipping. Actually, I could go for some sopapillas rights now!

Our fresh tortillas!

Yum, tacos!

After lunch we headed back downtown and our way from the Red Line to the apartment, we pass by the Tribune Tower (also part of my daily walk to work). The tower is a neo-Gothic building on Michigan Avenue. It was built in 1925 and is home to the Chicago Tribune. Before the completion of the tower, the Chicago Tribune brought back rocks and stones from historical places throughout the world. We got some snapshots with some!

Azores? I guess that's the closest we can get to Portugal.
