A Sunny Sunday

Today was the first warm day of 2011! The forecast was 85˚ and beautifully sunny. Downtown was flooded with residents enjoying the weather outside and people visiting and participating in the Shamrock Shuffle 8K. We made our way to Lincoln Park to look at more furniture. It seems like we always need more and more things! We walked down Wacker Drive for a bit to catch the Red Line and take in the sun's rays. It was such a gorgeous day, we just wanted to stay outside! When the sun is out, it's almost like a different spirit that you can feel in the air!

My turn!

The best that I could do. The difference in heights make it so hard!

Sun reflecting off Trump Tower.

Chicago River from West Wacker.

Once in Lincoln Park, we decided to explore a bit and see what other stores we could find. I found a Crate and Barrel Outlet that I was overly excited about, but Pierre's eyes lit up when we saw Goose Island Clybourn, a brewpub of Chicago's Craft Beer. We had lunch overlooking the brewery and I tried a first for me, Summertime, while Pierre stuck with his favorite, 312 (Chicago's main area code). Lunch was delicious and it was a nice break from all the walking we did.

I love their logo!

312, our favorite!

Tried a Summertime for the first time.

Cuban-esque sandwiches (minus the Cuban bread).
I never turn down sweet potato fries!

The brewery.

Can't wait to go back!

It's back to the typical chilly and wet weather tomorrow, but it was a nice glimpse of what's to come and a nice break from all the layering. I can't wait for summer!
